การคัดเลือก Ecorace ไหมอีรี่เพื่อการปรับปรุงพันธุ์ Thai Agricultural

The selection of eri silkworm ecorace with high yield and distinct in morphological character is necessary for variety improvement. Five eri silkworm ecoraces, SaKKU1, SaKKU2, SaKKU3, SaKKU4 and SaKKU5 were surveyed and derived in country or from academic cooperation in international level. All ecoraces were cultured using castor leaves of TCO101 variety as food plant at 25±2 °C, 80±5%R.H. Based on morphological characters, there were similar except body of the 5th instar larva of SaKKU1 was covered with white powder and ripe larva showing shiny dominant yellow color. Life cycles were also similar durations, 46-53 days (SaKKU1), 42-53 days (SaKKU2), 42-52 days (SaKKU3), 40-56 days (SaKKU4) and 41-52 days (SaKKU5). SaKKU1 had highest survival rate at larval...

Cotton damage from cotton jassid (Amrasca biguttula Ishida) becomes very serious problem because of 50-100% reduction of cotton yield. In order to reduce more systemic insecticide used for jassid control, jassid tolerant hairy leaf cotton varietal improvement was conducted at Nakhon Sawan Field Crops Research Center in 1997. The hairy leaf variety, IRMA1243, exhibiting jassid tolerance, was crossed with smooth leaf and leaf roll resistant Tak Fa 2, which has high yield and good fiber quality. Thereafter, plants were selected using bulk method in F2-F4 generations, followed by plant-to-row or pure line selection in F5-F6 generations based on hairy leaf with jassid tolerance, leaf roll disease resistance and high yield under non systemic-insecticide...
